This old factory hall in the north of Amsterdam has been the work space of several creative companies since 2014. Now it is time to change the building into the ideal living and working environment.
The idea is to keep the hall a workshop for the companies to be able to keep experimenting and creating. However, on top of the hall there will be added four new floors for living and working. This sculpture is daring and innovative, which contributes to the character of this area of Amsterdam, where the functions mix and match. A central corridor is the collective space from which you look out over the city. The units are prefabricated. Sustainability is at the core of the idea to reuse the factory and to add a lightweight structure made out of wood.
