In one of our previous posts, we mentioned that we are working on a design for the revitalisation of the Johan Cruyff court in Brazil, that opened in 2006. Together with Instituto Platforma Brasil, we came up with the idea to put a portrait of Johan Cruyff on the big sliding doors of the new canteen. The artist of the portrait will be Eduardo Kobra.
The story doesn’t end here. Because Instituto Plataforma Brasil is part of many projects in both The Netherlands and Brazil, it is in their interest to improve the connection between Amsterdam and Sao Paulo. By letting Kobra paint a portrait in both cities, they hope to do this. Kobra wanted to paint Anne Frank for a while and TEKTON helped to make this possible by looking for the right location in Amsterdam. The right location turned out to be a door of one of the old warehouses in the north of Amsterdam. Right now, Kobra is working on the Anne Frank portrait and the portrait of Johan Cruyff will be finished next year, exactly one year after his passing.
